OENPELLI AND JABIRU VISIT
It was off to Kakadu for a visit to the communities of Jabiru and Oenpelli, known by the traditional owners as Kunbarllaninja. Oenpelli kids have always shown a strong interest in the cricket activities on previous visits and this trip was no different. This time round a number of kids remembered our last visit when we took Nathan Bracken, Michael Hussey and Moses Henriques. The kids showed plenty of enthusiasm and enjoyed every moment of the activities.
Jabiru school kids once again showed that they have plenty of energy when the cricket comes to town. All kids had a ball participating to the extent of over exciting themselves. Through all visits with Jabiru the town does have a strong interest with the game of cricket from Grass roots to the senior men’s team, which now have some new and great hard wicket nets that would match any of the training facilities that any of the Darwin clubs have. The school visit is always a pleasure as it is well managed and coordinated and this reflects on the kid’s enjoyment when participating.
