Grade cricket is played in the Territory's major towns - Darwin and Districts, Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek. The cricket season in the Top End is throughout the dry season from April to September, and in Centralia from October to March.
The Alice Springs Cricket Association is the governing body for cricket in the Alice Springs and Barkly region. The Red Centre's Season is held from October through to March and includes, men’s, women’s and junior divisions.
Cricket in the Darwin and Districts region is held in the dry season, from April through to September. Since its inception in the 1960’s, the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition has evolved to include 7 major clubs and 1 minor club.
Katherine's cricket season is during the Top End's dry season, from April to September. The four club competition includes Twenty20 matches that are played over the weekend. 2011 International Cricketer of the Year, Shelley Nitschke began her cricket career playing in Katherine for the Matildas Cricket Club.
Tennant Creek's season is held from October through to March and includes competitions for men and junior divisions.
