Grade Cricket

Grade cricket is played in the Territory's major towns - Darwin and districts, Alice Springs and Katherine. The cricket season in the Top End is throughout the dry season from April to September, and in Alice Springs from October to March. There are competitions for men, women and juniors in both Darwin and districts and Alice Springs, and a men's competition in Katherine.

Darwin and Districts

Cricket in the Darwin and Districts region is held in the dry season, from April through to September. Since its inception in the 1960’s, the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition has evolved to include 7 major and 2 minor clubs in men’s, women’s and junior divisions.

Alice Springs

The Alice Springs Cricket Association is the governing body for cricket in the Alice Springs and Barkly region. The Red Centre's Season is held from October through to March and includes, men’s, women’s and junior divisions.

Katherine and Districts

Katherine's cricket season is during the Top End's dry season, from April to September. The four club competition includes 30 over matches that are played over the weekend. 2011 International Cricketer of the Year, Shelley Nitchkie began her cricket career playing in Katherine for Matildas Cricket Club.
