The role of NT Cricket's High Performance department is to provide resources and training to our best cricketers, actively supporting their development from the “red dust to the baggy green - cricket for all Territorians.” We provide opportunities for Territory players to develop their cricket skills and cricket education to the standard required to compete at a national level. The program also gives local coaches the opportunity to develop their skills to coach Territory teams to compete effectively at the next level.

The Strike Squad is the pinnacle of NT Cricket's pathway for premier players competing in the senior men's team (NT Strike).
The Calder Shield is a competition between the Top End Buffaloes, Darwin Sharks and Alice Springs Eagles.
The Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS) provides professional expertise, services and resources to targeted NT cricketers designed to enhance athlete development.
The Under 19 National Championships are conducted by Cricket Australia, and are held every year around November. Each State and Territory association participates in the championships, held in a different location each year.
The Under 17 National Championships are conducted by Cricket Australia, and are held every year in January. Each State and Territory association participates in the championships, held in a different location each year.
NT Cricket's Under 15 program is designed to give our best young Territorian players the opportunity to compete in a championship environment. NT Cricket aims to extend the program during the next two years to enable our top Under 15 players to compete at a national level.
NT Cricket’s Mid-Year Carnival is an important step in the player pathway to Northern Territory representation. The competition targets two age groups; Under 13 Years and Under 16 Years.
