155 children attended the first of NT Cricket’s 2012 Extended Skills Programs, held at Humpty Doo Primary School. The children enjoyed a range of games covering broad cricketing skills including batting, bowling, catching and throwing.

Following the sessions, Sarah Corry from Humpty Doo Primary School said “The program provides our students with experiences to develop their skills and knowledge of the game with enthusiastic and highly skilled coaches. As a PE teacher I can provide experiences for my students over a range of sports, but not provide them with the experience of a specialist coach.”

The Extended Skills Program includes one 45 minute session a week for four weeks, with up to 30 children involved in each session. Six sessions per day are usually held at the school, with children from Transition to Year 6 participating.
