Timber Creek, which sits at the northern-most tip of Judbarra (Gregory National Park), recently played host to the region’s West is Best sports carnival.  Over 120 students from Primary Schools across the Victoria Daly Shire participated in the carnival, in which cricket played a prominent role.

NT Cricket’s Participation Growth Officer, Ed Alexander, revelled in seeing the kids throw themselves into all the cricket activities.  “It’s always inspiring to come out to places like Timber Creek and witness the talent of so many of these kids, but more than that, it’s fantastic to see the enjoyment they get out of playing the game,” he said.

NT Cricket is committed to continuing the growth of cricket in the Victoria Daly Shire. "Working with local Sport and Recreation staff and schools will play a key role in ensuring cricket has a sustainable future in the region," said NT Cricket Game Development Officer - Top End, Tim Sparks.
