NTIS Cricket Coach starts
Tony Judd has arrived in Darwin and has started in his role as NTIS Head Coach Cricket.
As the coach for the NT Under 19 team, Tony’s first focus will be on leading the boys to the Cricket Australia Under 19 Male Championships to be held in Adelaide in January.
Tony is settling into his new role. “I am thrilled to be in Darwin and to be getting into the coaching and training schedule with the Under 19 boys. I’m also looking forward to meeting cricket community members as I settle into the NTIS and life in Darwin,” he said.
Tony comes to the NTIS role with extensive cricket coaching and education skills, and has returned to Australia from Scotland to take up the position. He has most recently been working as the Assistant National Coach and Performance Analyst for Cricket Scotland and has coached first class and international cricket over the past 10 years with Scotland.
Tony is a Level 3 Coach (Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)) and has previously been the Scottish National Coach and the Assistant Coach for the Tasmanian Tigers Sheffield Shield squad. He has also worked as a State Manager of Coaching and Development in Tasmania and the Regional Cricket Coaching and Development Manager for Cricket Victoria.
NT Cricket’s General Manager – Cricket Development & Performance, John Stock, is pleased to have Tony on board at the NTIS. “Tony is a highly regarded cricket coach with over 15 years experience both in Australia and Scotland. We have a close working relationship with the NTIS to develop a cricket pathway for cricketers in the Northern Territory and Tony’s skills will be extremely beneficial to our NTIS cricket scholars and those in the Emerging Players Program”, he said.
