The Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition (DDCC) commences this weekend, with a fast paced round of T20 action to launch the season.
Seven clubs and a combined Alice Springs team will compete for the Carlton Mid T20 Competition title, in a slightly amended fixture due to wicket preparation delays as a result of wet weather.
Chair of Darwin Cricket, Paul Allen, is looking forward to seeing players in action over the weekend. “The T20 round is always a great season opener for Darwin cricketers and I would encourage everyone to get down to Marrara Cricket Ground and Gardens Oval to catch the action, especially the final on Sunday from 3pm at Marrara which is always an exciting match.
“It is great to again welcome a combined Alice Springs team to Darwin for the weekend. The addition of this team, who come directly off the back of the Central Australian season, provides an added level of competitiveness for our local players,” he said.
The DDCC Carlton Mid T20 Competition starts from 10.30am on Saturday 1 April. The fixture is available here.
