The first matches of the inaugural Strike League have concluded this afternoon, with a dominant Southern Storm and City Cyclones taking the Round 1 win.

The Southern Storm defeated the Desert Blaze by 108 runs, with WA player Will Bosisto top scoring with 141, supported by Waratah Cricket Club’s Nick Bertus with 88. Chasing 315, and despite a gallant 70 not out from Uli Van Duyker, the Desert Blaze were not able to catch the Storm, finishing with 207.  

Run concurrently on Marrara Cricket Ground 2, the City Cyclones defeated the Northern Tide by 116 runs, with Jacob Dickman top scoring with 150, including 10 sixes. The City Cyclones’ Wilson Ryan was the pick of the bowlers with 4/51.
