TIO Junior Strike League

The Junior Strike League scheduled to take place from 5-9 July 2021 has been cancelled.

With the lockdown of the greater Darwin area extending until 1pm Friday 2 July there is too much uncertainty for the tournament to proceed. NT Cricket has made this this decision now in order to give certainty to those who were due to participate in the tournament, as well as to provide people with time to cancel their travel plans.

The fluid nature of the ongoing lockdown, and associated state and territory border closures, means that children and families traveling to Darwin from across the country to take part in the tournament next week may be required to undertake mandatory quarantine when returning from the Northern Territory.

The safety and wellbeing of our community and those participating in our programs is paramount and NT Cricket does not want to put anyone at risk of being required to undertake 14 days mandatory quarantine when returning home.

While it is very disappointing that the Junior Strike League program isn’t able to take place in 2021, NT Cricket look forward to the program resuming in 2022 when we hope to have a greater level of certainty in relation to interstate travel.
