Gardens Oval lights trial

Upcoming games at Gardens Oval can be found here.

NT Cricket has been investigating ways to make better use of facilities to support increasing numbers of women and juniors in our sport and, where possible, provide our entire cricket community with an option to play in the cool of the evening.

We are in the process of writing to all residents living nearby to Gardens Oval to provide details of City of Darwin’s approval to trial increased lighting levels at Gardens Oval One, and provide contact details for NT Cricket and City of Darwin should residents wish to raise any concerns.

At the 2nd Ordinary Council meeting held on Tuesday, 30 March 2021, Council approved our request to use the sports field lighting at Gardens Oval at full capacity (500 lux) on a trial basis through May and June for up to three evenings per week.
