With Grand Final berths, cups, and club pride all on the line, this weekend promises to be an action-packed cricket experience for any fans who make it down to support their club.

Federals Cricket Club will defend the Bigg-Filmer cup against old foe West Cricket Club.

The first match will be in the Yeperenye Shopping Centre Women’s Competition at 8pm on Thursday night at Flynn Drive Oval. West’s have had an outstanding start to the season sitting second in the competition while the Federals Ladies are snapping at their heels one game behind in third place.

The juniors will continue the Rivalry with the under 16’s match starting at 8am Saturday on Jim McConville Oval and the under 13’s teams will face off from 8am at Flynn Drive Oval.

The C-grade will be played under the Friday night light at Albrecht from 6.30pm. With both teams adrift of the C-grade T20 final spots, teams will be playing for club pride. The B-grade fixture will kick off at 12pm at Jim McConville Oval with Federals still able to qualify for the Grand Final next Saturday.

The Carlton Mid A-grade fixture features the top two teams in the town over the past 5 years and promises to be a spicy encounter. It’s not only the Filmer-Bigg cup on the line but Wests are also looking to book their spot in the T20 Grand Final to defend their 2020/21 crown. Federals have already secured top spot and will be looking to gain a mental edge over their potential Grand Final opponents.

The other Rivalry Round fixture will have two teams looking to create their own special day. Works Cricket Club will face off with new rivals Alice Springs Tigers for the Schmidt-Jacobs Cup. The Tigers will enter their first ever Rivalry Round full of confidence due to their strong showings in the B and C grades so far this season, while Works have had the upper hand in the Women’s Competition and A-grade.

The action kicks off with the Women's Competition at 6pm on Thursday night with Works heavy favourites after a strong start to the year which has put them 12 points clear at the top of the table. The Alice Tigers will be out looking for their first win but have been steadily improving since the beginning of the season.

The action will then turn to the Under 13’s Competition with Works looking to consolidate their lead at the top of the competition against a Tigers outfit who will be looking to register their points of their campaign.

The C Grade fixture is where attention turns to Albrecht Oval from 12pm.  Both Teams are locked at the top of the table with a significant gap to third spot. The match may not only be crucial in the aspect of the Rivalry Round but will serve as a dress rehearsal for next weeks T20 Grand Final. B-Grade will continue the day at 3.15pm in another 1 v 2 battle. Works need to win this match to ensure they qualify for the Grand Final where the Tigers are all but mathematically in the Big Dance.

All Focus will then turn to the A-Grade match up under lights at 6.30pm. Works requiring a win and other results to go their way to make the Carlton Mid T20 Grand Final. Tigers will be looking to bounce back after some poor performances over the past two weeks.
