The below is an update from NT Cricket on activities in the Darwin and Katherine regions following today’s update by the NT Government that the lockdown has been lifted in Greater Darwin from noon today and has been extended in Katherine for an additional 24 hours until noon tomorrow.

 

TIO Men’s Strike League T20 Tournament Update

 

The TIO Men’s Strike League T20 Tournament will recommence at 6pm this evening at DXC Arena with the City Cyclones taking on the Southern Storm.

 

The revised fixture will see the City Cyclones, Desert Blaze, Northern Tide and Southern Storm play four qualifying matches each ahead of the Final on Friday 27 August.

Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition Update

 

The Darwin Cricket Management Committee are working with clubs to determine the impact on the preparation of pitches for the upcoming fixtures this weekend due to the lockdown. At this stage, all competition fixtures will proceed as scheduled however an update will be provided prior to the weekend.

 

 

Katherine Districts Cricket Competition Update

 

All cricket fixtures in Katherine have been cancelled this weekend. Play will recommence on Saturday 28 August. 

 

 

We encourage our community across the Northern Territory to following the NT Government directives associated with their region, and more generally, continue to:

 

  • Check in to all venues using the Territory Covid-19 check in app
  • Get tested and isolate if you develop symptoms
  • Practice good personal hygiene by regularly washing hands and using hand sanitiser 
  • Keep 1.5m distance where possible
  • Follow Cricket Australia’s Covid-19 safety guidelines, and
  • Get vaccinated.
