The 2019 Dingo Cup was held in Timber Creek over the weekend (19/20 October), with four teams competing for the crown. The Timber Creek Dingoes and Timber Creek Bush Turkeys were the two local entries and two travelling teams The Katherine Bats and a NT Invitational team made up the remaining spots. Super sixes was the format with 5 over innings ensuring short, sharp and exciting innings with high totals. With the music pumping and the cricket sweltering the crowd were entertained with big hits and plenty of wickets.

The second day of the tournament saw the preliminary final played between the two local teams the Dingoes and the Bush Turkeys, with the Katherine Bats awaiting the winner as they had progressed to the grand final on aggregate. The Bush Turkeys were too good for the Dingoes which meant it would be a Bats and Bush Turkeys Final. Before the final there were some future Dingo Cup stars having a game following in their role models footsteps.

Congratulations to the Bush Turkeys who had a comprehensive victory over the Bats in the final. The whole weekend was played in great spirits with some awesome cricket on display.

Thank you to the Victoria Daly Regional Council, the Timber Creek Hotel, scorers, umpires, players and spectators for your support during the 2019 Dingo Cup.

See you next year!
