Northern Territory Cricket welcomes today’s $1.35m funding commitment towards upgrades at DXC Arena from the Country Liberal Party’s candidate for Solomon, Tina MacFarlane.

The funding commitment will enable construction of new unisex changerooms and additional public amenities to facilitate greater community use of DXC Arena and support the delivery of major events.

NT Cricket’s $5.9m DXC Arena masterplan is key to ensuring the organisation can continue to successfully deliver and grow major events such as Cricket 365, which brings Australia’s best young cricketer’s to the Territory each year, and provide the local community with access to a high quality multi-use sporting facility.

NT Cricket CEO Joel Morrison said:

“This commitment will expand DXC Arena’s capacity to host major events such Cricket 365 which is central to our aspiration of making Darwin the home of winter cricket in Australia.

New unisex changerooms will also cater for the increasing number of women and girls taking up cricket in the Top End, as well as support the increasing utilisation of DXC Arena by other sports.”
