The Imparja Cup has a long history of showcasing Indigenous men and women from across the Northern Territory, playing cricket in various formats and divisions. It's free to register, with uniforms and equipment provided for the indoor and outdoor competitions. Teams from across the Northern Territory will converge on Alice Springs for NT Cricket's premier Indigenous Carnival, celebrating Two Strong Cultures.
The 26th Imparja Cup in Alice Springs will be a massive cricket event with the NICC and the men's BBL being played on the same weekend in February 2019.
Cricket Australia runs the National Indigenous Cricket Championships in Alice Springs alongside the Imparja Cup, and it features interstate teams. In 2019, the men's Big Bash League will also blast into town for a T20 Big Bash Game at Traeger Park on Saturday 9th February. The Adelaide Strikers will take on the Perth Scorchers which celebrated Indigenous culture and introduced the inaugural Jason Gillespie trophy last year.
