On the second day of the Women’s 2020 National Indigenous Cricket Championship played in Alice Springs, NT encountered Queensland at Jim McConville Oval.
Queensland won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision paid almost immediate dividends when the Territory lost three early wickets – the chief destroyer was medium pacer Paige Hatherall who struck twice in her initial spell of three overs.
Alice Springs resident, Geraldine Reid, batting at the top of the order, was the only player to master the Maroons attack which included left-arm quick, Clodagh Ryall, who finished with 3-0 off two overs.
The Queenslanders were untroubled in running down the Territory total and won by 10 wickets.
Queensland: 0-60 (9.0) (Carly Fuller 33 n.o.) d Northern Territory: 10-57 (16.1) (Geraldine Reid 21; Clodagh Ryall 3-0, Paige Hatherall 3-6).
