With the first of their scheduled one-day fixtures reduced to a T20 match, Saturday will give Federal and West the opportunity to duke it out for top billing on the competition ladder.

Having met in the past two one day finals, the rivalry between the two sides has grown into a healthy competition in recent years and Saturday’s clash will likely prove no different.

Federal will head into the fixture as favourites, having not dropped a match yet across the one-day competition with West hot on their heels.

For Federal, skipper Dan Donaldson will likely prove the key to victory much like most fixtures he plays.

One of the town’s most talented cricketers, Donaldson can prove lethal with bat and ball as well as in the field.

West’s strong bowling attack will likely have a difficult time trying to nullify Donaldson along with a dangerous Federal batting line-up including the likes of Tom Clements and Banjo Waring.

On the other side, West will be without their leading run scorer for season 2020/21 with Daniel Geppa set to miss the clash.

Batting at number 3, Geppa has 322 runs at an average of 53.67 this season but it will be up to his teammates to get the job done with bat in hand on Saturday.

Federal and Wets will square off at Jim McConville Oval from 12.30pm on Saturday.

In the other A Grade fixture, Solergy Alice Tigers and Complete Constructions Cricket Club will do battle with third spot on the competition ladder up for grabs.

Tigers currently occupy third position however CCCC have two games in hand and could move ahead of their rivals with victory on Saturday.

The two sides will meet at Albrecht Oval from 12.30pm.

In the B Grade competition, West will look to continue their hot start to 2021 when they take on Solergy Alice Tigers from 12.30pm at Flynn Reserve.

Federal Asbuild and Rovers will meet in the other B Grade fixture at Rhonda Diano Oval.

C Grade cricket will make its return to Alice Springs this weekend with the first round of the one-day competition to be played on Saturday.

Four teams will be in action with Federal Asbuild Red taking on Complete Constructions Cricket Club at Paul Fitzsimons Oval, West and Solergy Alice Tigers meeting at Ross Park.

On Sunday Federal Asbuild White and Rovers will meet at Paul Fitzsimons Oval. All games will be played at 1pm.
