The Northern Territory Under 18 squad who will take on a QLD U18 Country XI have been presented their shirt this evening by Tasmanian Cricketers Beau Webster and Sam Rainbird.

The squad consists of a number of players who are in contention to represent the NT in the Under 17 National Youth Championships to be held in Mackay, QLD from September 30 to October 10.

For some players this will be the first opportunity they have had this season to press their claims for selection in NT squads.

Head of Pathways, Neale Price, said this opportunity provided selectors to rest a few players who have had big club and representative seasons whilst using the two games against QLD to see a number of other players against quality opposition.

"It also gives Alice Springs based players in Banjo Waring and Tino Masawi another opportunity to press for selection and gain valuable match time as they are currently out of season for cricket in the Alice," said Price.

NT Cricket's Statewide Super Pathways Academy batting specialist, Peter Dickman will Coach the team which will play two 50 over a side games and is excited about the opportunity to help develop another young group of talented NT players. Adrian Gallagher will come on board as assistant coach.

The first game will be held at Gardens Oval on Sunday 11 August commencing at 10.30am and the second is day/night fixture at Palmerston Sports Ground on Monday 12 August commencing at 1.30pm.
