The School Sport Australia Cricket Championships bring together the top Under 12 school teams from across the country to compete in a week-long tournament. The championships provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and represent their schools and states on a national level.
This year's championships will be particularly exciting, as it will be the first time that the Northern Territory will field an Under 12 girls team in the competition.
The teams were selected from the School of Sport Education NT Cricket Championships held last week. The selection of the girls' team marks an important milestone for cricket in the Northern Territory and is a testament to the hard work of the players, coaches, and organizers.
NT Cricket's Head of Cricket, Darren Treumer is excited to welcome teams from across Australia to the Northern Territory and showcase our beautiful city and cricket facilities.
"We are thrilled to have an Under 12 girls team competing in this year's School Sport Australia Cricket Championships, especially as it is a home Championships.
"Jane Slater and the team at School Sport NT have done a mountain of work in the lead up to the Championships and we look forward to a fantastic tournament and wish all the teams the best of luck," said Treumer.
