Under 12 School Sport Champs Get Underway This Weekend!

The School Sport Australia Cricket Championships bring together the top Under 12 school teams from across the country to compete in a week-long tournament. The Championships provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and represent their schools and states at a national level.

This year's Championships will be particularly exciting, as it will be the first time that the Northern Territory will field an Under 12 Girls team in the competition.

NT Girls Coach Adrian Gallagher said it's wonderful to have an NT Girls team in the competition for the first time. 

"I have witnessed the hard work, dedication and determination of this group of girls throughout the selection and training process and am certain they will make the Territory proud."

NT Boys Coach Chris McCormick said he's really excited see see what this group of kids can do in their first crack in Territory colours. 

"The boys have prepared exceptionally well and are ready to hit the ground running against South Australia at Garden's Oval on Sunday.

"It's a balanced side with a deep batting line-up and variety with the ball, I'd love to see a big crowd of Territorians there to watch the boys play".
