Bednarski Joins NT Cricket - Eager To See Cricket Thrive

A seasoned cricket enthusiast and leader, Liam Bednarski brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for community cricket to his role as Head of Clubs & Competitions at NT Cricket.

With a lifetime of experience as a player, coach, official, volunteer, and administrator at various levels, Liam is not only well-equipped to lead the clubs and competitions in the Northern Territory but his people, business, and sports management skills will contribute to the development of cricket across the Territory.

Cricket has been more than a game to Liam who describes the sport as being a fundamental part of his life from a young age.

It's a privilege to be able to be a leader in a sport that was a major part of my development as a person

— Liam Bednarski

Liam's journey with cricket began in the backyard, at local parks and in the schoolyard which ultimately transitioned into club cricket in Moe, country Victoria.

I was the enthusiastic kid who took charge - mowing pitches, setting park cricket rules, rallying local kids to play and keeping track of scores

As the Head of Clubs & Competitions, Liam is determined to take a people first approach and to build genuine human relationships with our key stakeholders, starting with the Associations and clubs.

Liam’s immediate focus is to work closely with the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition clubs ahead of the 2024 season while also gaining an understanding of the clubs and competitions which operate in Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs.

Liam’s role will play a key part in supporting the growth and development of local clubs within a national framework, including in the areas of governance, funding, member protection, volunteers and facilities across the Territory.

We look forward to the positive impact Liam will make to our cricket community.
