Northern Territory Cricket Announce Financial Results

Northern Territory Cricket Limited has today made the 2025 Financial Statements available to members ahead of the 2025 Annual General Meeting in what has been an unprecedented year for the sport in the Northern Territory.

Members are advised that the organisation has reported a net cash improvement up from ($9,926) in 2024 to a position of $125,873 in 2025, however the organisation will report a deficit of $156,503 compared to a surplus of $135,967 in 2024 primarily due to a significant investment in cricket infrastructure in a year that saw the return of International cricket to the Territory for the first time in 17 years.

Key points from NT Cricket’s financial performance:

  • Total revenue increased by $1,039,953, up by 28% compared to 2024.
  • Increase in cash position from $1,650,874 to $1,888,469, which is an excellent result considering the large capital expenditure.
  • Cash Profit was $237,595 after spending $525,832 on property plant & equipment at DXC Arena (including white picket fence, southern sight screen, turf curating equipment).
  • Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) investment of $70,773, an increase of 159% from the previous year.
  • Licence Fee contributions of $66,000 (Asbuild) for statutory maintenance costs related to Cazaly’s Arena following a two-year hiatus due to unresolved governance and financial reporting issues.
  • Depreciation expense of $290,827, up from $267,820 in 2024, with major items being DXC Arena and Cazaly’s Arena Light Towers ($87,514), DXC Building Improvements ($80,029) and vehicles ($40,146),

Northern Territory Cricket Chairman Stuart Kenny said the financial performance was strong considering the investment required to deliver the biggest and most successful year of cricket in the Northern Territory in two decades.

“We are proud of what has been a watershed year for our sport, punctuated by opening the 2025-26 Australian Summer of Cricket right here in Darwin, hosting four Australian Teams who capitalised on training or playing throughout our unique winter cricket window, and attracting a global audience of 54 million viewers to our unique Top End T20 Series.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard over the past few years to re-open the door to national and international opportunities, and to elevate the role we play in Australian Cricket. This has required investment in facilities, programs and people, laying the foundations for future growth and delivering immediate benefits to our community, clubs and competitions.”

In announcing the results Northern Territory Cricket Limited would again like to offer interested 2025-26 members the opportunity to attend a ‘Financial Information Forum’ in advance of the AGM, where members can discuss the financials in greater detail with representatives of the Board.

The Financial Information Forum will take place at DXC Arena (and Microsoft Teams) on Wednesday 5 November (6pm ACST). Members interested in attending are required to register with Belinda Shaw (Belinda.shaw@ntcricket.com.au) by Thursday 30 October.
