Under-19 Northern Territory squad locked in for Cricket Australia's National Championships

Northern Territory Cricket is pleased to announce the following 14-player squad to compete at Cricket Australia’s Under-19 Male National Championships, which will be held between December 1-8.

Headlining the squad are Sam Barker (Southern Districts CC), Archie McCormick (Waratah CC) and Cadell McMahon (Palmerston CC), who all featured in the 2025 Top End Series as part of the NT Strike Men’s side. McMahon finished the competition as the second-leading wicketkeeper for dismissals with nine, while Barker and McCormick made their debuts against the eventual champions, Perth Scorchers.

The NT squad includes 11 local players who were selected based on their performances in the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition (DDCC), key NT Pathway tournaments such as the Kookaburra Junior Strike League and Kookaburra Interstate Challenge, and their contributions throughout 2025 in the newly created NT Cricket Academy.

NT will lean on the experience of Nic Fleming (Nightcliff CC), Max Menzies (Darwin CC) and James Hatton (Nightcliff CC), who all featured in last year’s Under-19 team that finished with a 3-3 record. Joining them are five players set for their first appearance at this level: Noah McDonald (PINT CC), Junaid Mansoor (Waratah CC), Matt St Clair (Southern Districts CC), Rehaan Shyamsundar (Southern Districts CC) and Lenny Wilton (Darwin CC).

The NT squad also features three interstate players. Victorian Aayan Nadeem (Footscray CC) is a hard-hitting left-handed batter. New South Welshman Will Hardy (University of Sydney) is a 6 ft 2 fast bowler, and South Australian Suhas Challa (Adelaide University) returns after representing the NT at the 2024 Under-19 Championships, where he finished as the Territory’s leading run-scorer.

The squad will be coached by NT Cricket’s Talent and Pathway Development Coach Trent Keep and supported by Assistant Coach Harry Martin (Nightcliff CC) and Team Manager Will Pilkington (Darwin CC).

“These tournaments present an excellent opportunity for our players, both on the ground and away from it."

Pitting themselves against the best young players in the country is a fantastic opportunity to showcase how far these players have come.”

I am especially excited for Junaid who has earned his way into this team, and his age (15) is irrelevant, he has taken to first grade here in DDCC and presents as a well-mannered young man with huge upside in terms of skill”.
