Northern Territory Cricket is pleased to announce it will host the Afghan Refugee Women’s XI Cricket Team in Darwin from 23 to 30 May 2026, with the side to play a three-match series against NT Women at DXC Arena.
The series will provide an exciting opportunity for Territory players to represent NT Strike in competitive matches, while also celebrating the continued growth of women’s cricket across the Northern Territory.
NT Cricket will announce its squad on Saturday following Round 7 of the Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition - with players represented from the DDCC, Alice Springs Cricket Association and NT Cricket pathway programs.
In addition to the matches, the Afghan Refugee Women’s XI Cricket Team will take part in training sessions, community activities, school engagement opportunities and cultural experiences during their time in Darwin.

NT Women in Sport Network Event
NT Cricket will also host a Women in Sport Network session in collaboration with the Department of People, Sport and Culture at DXC Arena on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
Hosted by NT Cricket, the session will explore how sport can create meaningful change, bringing together leaders, participants and stakeholders from across the Territory sporting community.
