Delissa Kimmince to hit Red Centre for six

Cricket fever hits Alice Springs as former Australian women’s cricketer Delissa Kimmince arrives in town to conduct cricket clinics for junior and women's cricketers thanks to the Australian Cricketers' Association's Game Development Program.

The clinics, which will be held at the picturesque Jim McConville Oval and Albrecht Oval on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 September, will be a great experience for budding cricketers, and a testament to Kimmince's commitment to nurturing talent at the grassroots level.

Delissa Kimmince, a name synonymous with Australian women's cricket, has carved a niche for herself as a versatile all-rounder during her international and domestic cricket career. Having represented Australia across all formats of the game, she also played for Queensland Fire in the Women’s National Cricket League and the Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League, retiring from professional cricket in 2021. However, she didn't bid farewell to the sport; instead, she transitioned into coaching and mentoring to give back to the cricketing community.

The Alice Springs cricket clinics will be an inclusive affair, welcoming juniors and women of all ages and skill levels. Whether attendees were novices eager to learn the basics or experienced players aiming to fine-tune their techniques, there is something for everyone before the ACSA season starts.

Kimmince is also in Alice Springs to support the Desert Rose Cup, a three-match series which will see the best Darwin Women’s cricketers take on the local talent in Alice Springs, will be played at Albrecht Oval on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October.
