DXC Technology driving brighter futures in Red Centre

As part of the 32nd Annual Imparja Cup, Northern Territory Cricket, and major partner DXC Technology have once again teamed up to provide increased access to both cricket and technology in remote communities.

In a week where Northern Territory Cricket had 52 girls turn up to the first ever Girls Only Colour Blast in Alice Springs, DXC Technology donated 30 laptops to Sadadeen Primary School and Kalano Community Association as part of their First Nations and Digital Futures Program.

The DXC Digital Futures Program refurbishes and redistributes technology equipment, sharing it with communities who need it the most. In the last 18 months, DXC has donated over 300 laptops to schools and community associations across the Northern Territory, believing access to technology is a significant indicator of socio-economic outcomes.

DXC Technology is a leading Fortune 500 global technology services provider and both a major partner and Indigenous Cricket partner of NT Cricket.

Stuart Meadley, DXC Technology First Nations and Digital Futures Program Manager, expressed excitement about the initiative:

We're really pleased to be able to be here at Sadadeen Primary School. We've been able to provide these devices, which will support learning and research activities, as well as for administrative purposes by staff, and that’s all part of self-determination and letting organisations choose how they want to best make use of the technology that we offer.

DXC has had a commitment in the Territory for some time, and I think part of that comes and can only come through partnerships and collaborations. That's why we're so delighted to be able to work with NT Cricket.”

Anthea Frossinakis, Principal of Sadadeen Primary School, shared her gratitude for the donation:

“At Sadadeen Primary, we have 180 students. Our values will help students use the technology safely and respectfully. Cyber safety is important. So, we will teach our students about technology & cyber safety. I am thankful for DXC Technology and NT Cricket because we don't have enough laptops here at the school. So now we have enough, so our students can all have a go and not miss out.”

Gavin Dovey, Chief Executive Officer NT Cricket, said he was proud to have a major partner so invested in making a difference in our communities:

“We both understand the importance and power of providing access and opportunity, and it’s wonderful to collaborate with DXC Technology and extend our impact beyond the cricket field and into classrooms, fostering a legacy of learning and growth.”
