Emily McBride named November AANT Volunteer of the Month

NT Cricket, in partnership with AANT, is pleased to recognise Emily McBride from Rovers Cricket Club in Alice Springs as November’s AANT Volunteer of the Month.

Emily is a key contributor within the Alice Springs cricket community, and after relocating to Katherine for work she has continued to stay closely connected with the game in Central Australia.

In her volunteer role, she supports both Rovers Cricket Club and the Alice Springs Cricket Association (ASCA) with essential PlayHQ administration. She manages player clearances, enters scorecards, troubleshoots system issues, and assists clubs with their weekly competition requirements. Her accuracy, responsiveness and willingness to take on tasks ensure competitions run smoothly across the region.

Her impact reaches well beyond Rovers CC. Emily regularly assists the Alice Springs women’s competition, provides support across multiple clubs, and continues to lend her experience to ASCA whenever needed. Emily has stayed connected to the game through off-field volunteering, keeping the admin work organised and helping deliver a seamless experience for players, coaches and officials.

Emily has also begun contributing to cricket in Katherine. Recently, she helped assemble a local team and took part in the annual Nitmiluk Cup, extending her involvement both on and off the field. Her commitment reflects how deeply she values supporting cricket communities and staying connected to the sport.

Reflecting on what volunteering means to her, Emily said:

“Volunteering means for me just getting out there, doing something different, learning a different skill, and helping in ways that you don’t think you can help. I am not much of a player anymore in Alice Springs, but I try to stay on top of all of the PlayHQ for all clubs, not just one club but all clubs and the association. Anybody can do it, anybody can put their hand up and learn a new skill.”

NT Cricket and AANT thank Emily for her outstanding contribution by awarding her a 12-month Premium AANT Membership and a $250 United fuel voucher.

Nominations are now open for December’s AANT Volunteer of the Month. If you know someone who goes above and beyond for your club, submit your nomination here.
