NT Cricket, in partnership with AANT, is pleased to recognise Sean McComas from the Alice Tigers Cricket Club as December’s AANT Volunteer of the Month.
Sean is a highly respected leader within the Alice Springs cricket community and plays a vital role in supporting both club and association cricket. As President of the Alice Tigers Cricket Club, he consistently provides mentoring, guidance, and hands-on support across Alice Springs Cricket Association competitions, with a strong focus on Tigers women’s cricket and the broader women’s program.
Known for his calm and considered approach, Sean listens with patience and represents his highly diverse and multicultural club with care and integrity. He is a thoughtful advocate for all members, ensuring voices across the community are heard and represented in a positive and inclusive way that reflects the values of cricket in Central Australia.
Behind the scenes, Sean also plays a key role in the operations of FrogBox streaming for ASCA matches. He manages setup and delivery to ensure games are accessible to players, families, and supporters. Importantly, Sean has been a strong advocate for expanding FrogBox coverage to lower grades and women’s cricket, helping increase visibility and recognition across all levels of the game.
Sean’s contribution reflects a genuine commitment to inclusion, connection, and the growth of cricket in Alice Springs. His leadership and willingness to serve wherever needed continue to make a meaningful impact across clubs and competitions.
Reflecting on what volunteering means to him, Sean said:
“Volunteering is my way of giving back to a club and community that supported me when I needed it most. Watching players grow in confidence and love for the game is what makes volunteering so rewarding.”
