NT Cricket, in partnership with AANT, is pleased to recognise Paul Rumpff as January’s AANT Volunteer of the Month.
Paul plays a central role in cricket in Alice Springs, serving as Vice President of the Alice Springs Cricket Association and as a senior umpire across multiple competitions. His contribution spans officiating, governance and match operations, supporting the game at every level.
A driving force behind umpiring in Central Australia, Paul’s involvement extends well beyond standing in the middle. He mentors, supports and coordinates umpires throughout the season, helping ensure matches are conducted fairly and professionally. In a regional environment where recruiting and retaining umpires can be challenging, his leadership has been critical in maintaining strong officiating standards and building confidence among officials.
He is particularly committed to developing new and emerging umpires, generously offering guidance and practical support to those stepping into the role. Paul has also been a strong advocate for women’s participation in umpiring and cricket coordination, encouraging greater representation and opportunity within the local cricket community.
In his governance role, Paul contributes to strategic planning and the smooth delivery of competitions, always focused on what is best for players, volunteers and the long-term sustainability of the game. He is also known for his willingness to assist wherever needed, including pitch preparation and ground support, often working behind the scenes to ensure matches run safely and efficiently.
Paul’s consistency, integrity and community-first approach make him a highly deserving recipient of January’s AANT Volunteer of the Month Award.
NT Cricket and AANT thank Paul for his outstanding contribution by awarding him a 12-month Premium AANT Membership and a $250 United fuel voucher.
