Northern Territory Cricket Announce 2026 Academy Programs

Northern Territory Cricket is pleased to announce the players selected for the 2026 Darwin-based Male and Female Academy Program.

The Academy’s purpose is to bridge the gap to wider Cricket Australia High-Performance systems, with NT Cricket dedicating more resources into the Territory’s top players who are eligible for selection in our Cricket Australia National Championship teams (U16 Female, U17 and U19 male).

In line with High-Performance frameworks, the NT Academy will have a holistic focus across physical, mental, tactical, technical and individual development. This will be supported by the incorporation of external professionals in specialised fields (nutrition, mental and physical), a new two-year partnership with Club Lime as ‘Official Health and Fitness Partner’, and access to leading physiotherapy through the continuation with Territory Sports Medicine as ‘Official Physiotherapy Partner’ of NT Cricket Pathways.

The Academy will also have a strong focus on coach development, with all local club coaches invited to attend Academy training sessions as a means of upskilling and aligning messaging with NT Cricket.

The Academy will be extended to include Alice Springs in August – aligning with the start of their ASCA season.

Nick Winter Head of Cricket:

“The introduction of the Academy in 2025 was an important step in our Pathway – and the opportunity for the Territory’s best players to access unlimited 1-1 coaching, group trainings and specialised support across 12 months of the year will be critical in helping produce the next Jake Weatherald or Tabitha Saville”.

“The technical and physical progress of several Academy players throughout 2025 was noticeable, headlined by Jordi O’Toole’s performance at Cricket Australia’s U16 Girls National Championships where she claimed the tournament’s leading wicket taker honours”.

“I would like to thank the continued support of TSM, who have been working alongside the NT Pathway for over 10 years – as well as welcome the addition of Club Lime, who have provided all our Academy athletes with multinational gym memberships to support their strength and conditioning development."
