NT Cricket is pleased to welcome Envirobank as the official sponsor of the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition Club Championship Award.
The Club Championship Award recognises the strongest overall club across all DDCC grades, rewarding consistent performance, participation and club-wide contribution throughout the regular season. The award reflects the breadth of Darwin cricket, with points calculated across senior, women’s, T20, Sunday League and junior competitions.
As a proudly Indigenous-owned recycling business, Envirobank’s support aligns strongly with the role cricket clubs play across the Territory as community hubs that bring people together through shared action and local connection.
Founded in 2008, Envirobank operates across the Northern Territory and other state container deposit schemes, helping Australians take part in the circular economy by recycling eligible 10-cent refundable bottles and cans.
NT Cricket Head of Clubs and Competitions Karl Mayne said Envirobank’s support was a strong fit for an award that recognises the collective effort of clubs across the DDCC season.
"The Club Championship Award is one of the best reflections of club strength because it looks beyond one team or one result, it recognises the work clubs put into every grade, from junior cricket through to senior cricket, women’s cricket and community competitions.
That whole-of-club contribution aligns strongly with Envirobank’s values, where small actions across a community can add up to a much bigger impact. We are grateful to Envirobank for supporting an award that celebrates the clubs driving cricket across Darwin and the people who contribute to that success each week."
Envirobank Commercial & Community Development Manager Marty Taylor said the partnership was an opportunity to support local cricket while encouraging more Territorians to take part in recycling.
"Envirobank is proud to partner with NT Cricket, bringing together our shared commitment to grassroots communities, participation and positive local impact. Through cricket and 'Caring for Country', we can help create stronger, more connected communities while inspiring the next generation to make a difference on and off the field."
The Envirobank Club Championship Award will be presented at the conclusion of the DDCC season.
Territorians can start recycling through Cash for Containers NT, with a 10-cent refund available for every eligible bottle and can displaying the 10¢ refund symbol.
Clubs, schools, workplaces and community groups can also raise funds through collective recycling, while helping reduce landfill waste and supporting more sustainable local communities.
