Northern Territory Cricket, in partnership with AANT, is pleased to recognise Alice Caldow from Waratah Cricket Club as May’s AANT Volunteer of the Month.
Alice has made a strong contribution to the Waratah Cricket Club community, giving her time to support the club’s female and junior programs. After joining the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition as an import player, Alice has quickly found ways to give back to the game in the Territory and support those around her.
At Waratah, Alice has been involved in helping create more opportunities for women and girls to take part in cricket. Her energy, organisation and willingness to contribute have supported the club’s female program and helped create a positive environment for players to develop and enjoy the game.
Alice also coaches across multiple areas of the club, including the Woolworths Cricket Blast program, Under 9s and the women’s team. Her involvement across different age groups reflects her commitment to helping players at all stages of the game, from children taking their first steps in cricket through to senior players continuing their cricket journey.
Importantly, Alice is helping inspire more young girls to play cricket. Through her coaching and presence around the club, she provides encouragement, support and a visible example for the next generation of female cricketers.
Reflecting on her involvement with Waratah Cricket Club, Alice said:
"I just really enjoy it. Helping out where I can and seeing the impact it makes, especially with the younger girls. Seeing them happy and walking away having enjoyed cricket is great."
Alice’s enthusiasm, reliability and commitment to supporting cricket at Waratah make her a deserving recipient of May’s AANT Volunteer of the Month Award.
NT Cricket and AANT thank Alice for her outstanding contribution by awarding her a 12-month Premium AANT Membership and a $250 United fuel voucher.
