Northern Territory Cricket is pleased to confirm the Bangladesh High-Performance team will return to Darwin from 21 to 30 August for the 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series.
Bangladesh’s involvement reinforces the growing status of the Top End Series with the unique winter cricket event continuing to be of great appeal to international teams, Big Bash Academy’s and overseas T20 Franchises.
Since their introduction Bangladesh have been highly competitive and featured in the 2024 grand final, while several players from the visiting Bangladesh HP teams have since established or strengthened their place in the senior national team.
Parvez Hossain Emon appeared for the Bangladesh HP in Darwin in 2024 before scoring his maiden T20 International century against the United Arab Emirates in May 2025, while opening batter Tanzid Hasan has since become a regular member of Bangladesh’s white-ball teams.
Saif Hassan and Nurul Hasan were named in Bangladesh’s T20I squad for the most recent Asia Cup. Saif scoring 61 in Bangladesh’s Asia Cup victory over Sri Lanka as well as 69 against India before being appointed Bangladesh’s T20I vice-captain in November 2025.
Their progress demonstrates the calibre of players again expected in Darwin and the Series growing importance to the BCB’s broader player-development pathway.
NT Cricket CEO Gavin Dovey said Bangladesh had become an important part of the tournament’s international field.
“We are pleased to welcome Bangladesh back to the Top End Series for a third consecutive year.
“Bangladesh is home to 178 million passionate cricket fans and their participation adds both strong competition and an engaged international audience.
“Our growing relationship with the BCB is important to the development of the Series and to Darwin’s position as Australia’s home of winter cricket.”
The 2025 tournament attracted 10.2 million television viewers in Bangladesh through T Sports, forming part of the Series’ expanding international broadcast audience.
The 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series will be played in Darwin from 21 to 30 August, with the Bangladesh High-Performance team to play at least six matches.
