Darwin delight rolls on for Bangladesh

A brilliant half-century from new Tasmanian recruit Teague Wyllie was not enough to get Hobart Hurricanes Academy over the line in a Top End T20 thriller on Sunday night.

Bangladesh High Performance came from a tough position to pull off a remarkable victory at TIO Stadium.

Playing on the same pitch its national team recorded a famous Test win on, Bangladesh fought back from 3-36 to chase down Hobart's 153 total.

No.4 Sabbir Rahman played a sensational knock of 59 from 45 deliveries to supercharge the run chase as Bangladesh got over the line in a three-wicket win.

Needing six runs to win from the last over, Abu Hider Rony crunched a Gabe Bell delivery through cover-point for four to bring up the winning runs with two balls to spare.

Abdul Gaffar, who played a valuable knock himself of 19no off 13 balls, was alongside Abu in the middle and pumped to see his team get the win.

Bangladesh has now started its campaign with an undefeated 2-0 record after defeating Nepal in their first game on Saturday.

Earlier, Mohammad Rubel took 3-25 from four overs. Wyllie scored 78no from 53 deliveries - the highest score in an innings so far this series.

New Zealand A got over the line against ACT Comets earlier on day three of the tournament, and Adelaide Strikers Academy defeated NT Strike.
