Northern Territory Cricket Announce 2026 Financial Results

Northern Territory Cricket Limited has today made the 2026 Financial Statements available to members ahead of the 2026 Annual General Meeting in what has been another exceptional year for cricket in the Northern Territory.

Key points from NT Cricket’s financial performance:

  • Achieved a cash neutral position following a deficit of $156,503 in the prior corresponding period.
  • Invested in critical infrastructure, equipment and machinery required to support the return of Test Cricket to Darwin and continued growth of the Top End T20 Series.
  • Successfully increased grant funding by $1,165,039.
  • Sponsorship revenue increased by 59% reflecting the growing value proposition of cricket at both a community and elite level.
  • A formal independent valuation was undertaken during the financial year, giving a much more accurate book figure of land, buildings & equipment.
  • Increase in depreciation expense partly due in depreciation now being calculated on increased valuations, and possible higher replacement costs.

Northern Territory Cricket Chairman Stuart Kenny said a strong financial performance was important as Australian cricket navigates difficult strategic decisions that are critical to the future of the game.

“Amidst a period of uncertainty and change in the sport nationally, cricket in the Northern Territory continues to enjoy a period of unprecedented growth and opportunity, accentuated by the return of Test Cricket to Darwin for the first time in 22 years and Jake Weatherald becoming the first born and bred Territorian to wear the Baggy Green cap.

“Management have worked exceptionally hard to execute the strategic plan, continuing to unlock winter cricket’s value proposition to national and global partners, and position us as a sport of choice for an increasingly diverse local community. Investment in people, infrastructure and partnerships remains central to our success and we remain bullish on our long-term future.”

In announcing the results Northern Territory Cricket would again like to offer interested 2026-27 members the opportunity to attend a ‘Financial Information Forum’ in advance of the AGM, where members can discuss the financials in greater detail with representatives of the Board.

The Financial Information Forum will take place at DXC Arena (and online via Microsoft Teams) on Tuesday 10 November (6pm ACST).

Members interested in attending are required to register with Belinda Shaw (Belinda.shaw@ntcricket.com.au) by Friday 6 November (4pm ACST).
