NT Cricket, in partnership with AANT, is pleased to recognise David Howe from Darwin Cricket Club as the September AANT Volunteer of the Month.
A dedicated player and volunteer, David plays a key role in supporting Darwin Cricket Club's junior program, particularly through his work with the club's Under 13 Blue team. Alongside his commitments as an A Grade player, David generously gives his time to help young cricketers develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a love for the game.
Reflecting on why he became more involved at Darwin, David said:
“Being a volunteer for me is about giving back to the club who have given plenty to myself and other senior players by helping grow and develop our junior program at Darwin CC,” David said.
“What I enjoy most about volunteering is seeing how much the kids develop and grow over the course of the season and seeing how much they all enjoy their cricket.”
Darwin Cricket Club Junior Coordinator, Adrian Handford, praised David's commitment and the positive impact he continues to have on the club's young players.
“Thank you, David, for your fantastic contribution to junior cricket and your work supporting the Darwin Cricket Club's Under 13 Blue team,” Handford said.
“It is truly impressive that you contribute so much to helping young players build their skills and teamwork while also playing A Grade cricket yourself. Your dedication to the club and love for the game are deeply appreciated.”
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to cricket in the Territory, David has been awarded a 12-month AANT Premium Membership and a $250 United fuel voucher, courtesy of AANT.
NT Cricket and AANT thank David for his ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of cricketers and helping create a positive and welcoming environment at Darwin Cricket Club.
